Privacy Policy

The Institute of Management Accountants ("IMA") wants you to know how we address privacy issues. IMA provides the privacyanti-spamming policy below (the "Privacy Policy") to explain how your personal information will be treated by IMA.


Your furnishing your personal information, whether through the IMA web site (the "Site")through any other means, constitutes your acceptance of the Privacy Policy, as it may be amended from time to time.


IMA reserves the right to amend this Privacy Policy at any time. Please check the Site frequentlysee changes.


Collection of Personal Information from MembersApplicants


IMA may collect "Personal Information" provided by an applicantmember in application forms, membership renewal forms, registration formssurveys, (including but not limited to, name, preferredsecondary address, e-mail, phone numbers, employer,other personal profile data).


Collection of Personal Information from Site Users


IMA may collect and/or track "Personal Information""Non-Personal Information." IMA may collect and/or track Personal Information which is personally identifiable information such as:


the e-mail addresses of visitors that communicate with IMAthe Site via e-mail and


information knowingly provided by the visitor in online forms, registration formssurveys, (including name, address, e-mailother personal profile data).


IMA may collect and/or track Non-Personal Information, i.e. information of an anonymous nature, such as:


the home server domain names, Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, e-mail addresses, type of computer,type and/or version of Web browser and/or operating system of visitors to the Site, and


aggregate information regarding page views.


IMA may place Internet cookies on visitors hard drives. Internet cookies save data about individual visitors, such as the visitors name, password, user-name, screen preferences, the pages of a site viewed by the visitor,the advertisements viewedclicked by the visitor. When the visitor revisits the Site, IMA may recognize the visitor by the Internet cookiecustomize the visitors experience accordingly. Visitors may decline Internet cookies, if any, by using the appropriate feature of their Web client software, if available; however, this may impair certain features of the Site.

When a visitor performs a search within the Site, IMA may record information identifying the visitorlinking the visitor to the search performed. IMA may also record limited information associated with every search request made by the visitoruse that information to, among other things, solve technical problems with the serviceto calculate overall usage statistics.

IMA may use Personal Information in a number of ways, such as:


If you are an IMA officer, member of the Board of Directors,a member of a Committee, IMA may place your preferred contact information on its Webpages/Internet sitespublish such information in other forms as it considers appropriate to allow IMA members to correspond with you regarding IMA matters.


Councils may place your preferred contact information on their Webpages/Internet sitespublish such information in other forms as they consider appropriate to allow IMA members to correspond with you regarding IMA matters.


Chapters may place your preferred contact information on their Webpages/Internet sitespublish such information in other forms as they consider appropriate to allow IMA members to correspond with you regarding IMA matters.


If you are an IMA Council officer, member of the Board of Directors,a member of a Committee:


IMA may place your preferred contact information on its Webpages/Internet sitespublish such information in other forms as it considers appropriate to allow IMA members to correspond with you regarding IMA matters.


Your Council may place your preferred contact information on its Webpages/Internet sitespublish such information in other forms as it considers appropriate to allow IMA members to correspond with you regarding Council matters.


Chapters within your Council may place your preferred contact information on their Webpages/Internet sitespublish such information in other forms as they consider appropriate to allow IMA members to correspond with you regarding IMA matters.


If you are an IMA Chapter officer, member of the Board of Directors,a member of a Chapter Committee:


IMA may place your preferred contact information on its Webpages/Internet sitespublish such information in other forms as it considers appropriate to allow IMA members to correspond with you regarding IMA matters.


Your Council may place your preferred contact information on its Webpages/Internet sitespublish such information in other forms as it considers appropriate to allow IMA members to correspond with you regarding Council matters.


Your Chapter may place your preferred contact information on its Webpages/Internet sitespublish such information in other forms as it considers appropriate to allow IMA members to correspond with you regarding Chapter matters.


If you are an IMA Chapter member:


The Chapter may place your preferred contact information in its Annual Roster to facilitate networking among Chapter members; PROVIDED THAT


such information is distributed only to members;


is not published in a public area of the Chapters Internet site; and


any publication clearly indicates:

: THIS CONTACT INFORMATION IS PROVIDED SOLELY TO ENCOURAGE NETWORKINGCOLLABORATION AMONG IMA MEMBERS. USING,ALLOWING OTHERS TO USE, THIS CONTACT INFORMATION FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSESOLICITATION IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. ANY MEMBER WHO FAILS TO COMPLY WITH THIS RESTRICTION MAY BE SUBJECT TO HAVING HIS/HER MEMBERSHIP PRIVILEGES REVOKED.


Maintain a database of your Personal Information (excluding your Social Security Account NumberBirth Year)facilitate Chapter operations, programmingplanning; PROVIDED THAT, the Chapter exercises reasonable controls over this data to assure that it is not used for any other purposes.


IMA may also use your Personal Information to:


To communicate with you about your account,to communicate information about IMA (including the Site). We will also occasionally send important noticesinformation.


To provide you with goods, servicesinformation you have requested from IMA (including your use of the Site). IMA may from time to time use your personal data to contact you about changes, enhancementsother similar notices related to IMA goodsservices.


To build higher-quality, more useful services, such as by analyzing demographicusage trends,by measuring demographicsinterests regarding specific areas of IMA (including the Site).


To provide you with prompteffective customer service.


To support the operation of IMA (including the Site) such as account maintenancerecord-keeping, troubleshoot problems, resolving disputes,enforcing our TermsConditions.


To inform you of IMA activities such as meetings, conferences, seminarsother educational offerings.


To inform you about servicesprograms related to IMA and/or offered by contracted Business Partners.


To conduct member surveys requested by IMAs Board of Directors, Committees, Councils,Chapters.


To conduct surveys on behalf of individual members performing scholarly research.


To protectdefend a legal interest if IMA has reasonable grounds to believe that the personal data would be useful when investigating a contravention of federal, state, local, provincialforeign law.


Disclosure of Personal Information Collected


IMA will not sell a Members Personal Information to anyone. IMA may disclose Personal Information about you to Third Parties as follows:


Upon your requestauthorization.


To local chaptersregional councils to facilitate their operationseducational programs (as set forth in Paragraph 3, above).


To facilitate a transactioncommunication with a third party that you have initiated. For example, when you e-mail an organization with which you may be interested.


To certain Alliance Partners for campaigns which are consistent with IMAs purposesthe purposes of the Alliance Partnershiphave probable benefitinterest to members. (For example, IMA may share namesphone numbers for selected members for calling campaign to increase participation in the MBNA credit card program.) In such cases, the information shared will be limited to namephone number, will be for a single campaign,will exclude any member living in a Europeancountry.


To certain Alliance Partners for campaigns which are consistent with IMAs purposesthe purposes of the Alliance Partnershiphave probable benefitinterest to members. (For example, IMA may share namesaddresses for selected members for a direct mail campaign to increase participation in the life insurance program.) In such cases, the information shared will be limited to namesaddresses, will be for a single campaign,will exclude any member living in a Europeancountry.


IMA may, from time to time, rent member namesaddresses for use by third parties. The intended use must be consistent with IMAs purposeshave probable benefitinterest to members. (For example, IMA may rent a portion of its mailing list for promotion of a seminar directed at management accountants.) In such cases, the rental will be for a one-time use, the list will be released only to an approved fulfillment house for the party renting the list, namesaddresses will not be released the party renting the list, the numberselection criteria will be approved by IMA,will exclude any member living in a Europeancountry.


To IMAs agentsadvisors (such as our accountantsattorneys). We only disclose the Personal Information necessary for them to provide their services to youto us,only under strict confidentiality restrictions.

In connection with an IMA corporate re-organization, mergeramalgamation with another entity,a sale of alla substantial portion of IMAs assets provided that the Personal Information disclosed continues to be used for the purposes permitted by this Privacy Policy by the entity acquiring the information.
If you partake (or we reasonably suspect that you are partaking) in any illegalpotentially illegal activity. We may disclose personal information even without a subpoena, warrant,other court order, to the extent we feel is necessary to informcooperate with law enforcement agenciesother appropriate authorities.


In aggregated form, i.e., information about multiple individuals collectively without identifying any individual, such as the total number of visitors to a particular section in a given weekthe number of certified members in a region.


Collection of Personal Data from Children


To the extent that IMA is able to determine the age of users by their submissions to,communications with, IMA, IMA will not knowingly


(a) collectpost information from individuals under eighteen (18) years of age ("Children""Child") without their parentsguardians consent, or


(b) provide any personally identifying information collected from Children, regardless of its source, to any third party for any purpose whatsoever.


Security Measures


The security of a Members personal information is important to us. IMA takes technical, contractual, administrative,physical security steps to protect Personal Information that you provide to us. IMA instructs its employees with access to your Personal Information that it be used only in adherence with the principles set forth in this Privacy Policyapplicable laws. IMA has implemented numerous security features to prevent the unauthorized release ofaccess to personal information. In particular, when a visitor provides credit card information through the Site, IMA offers the visitor the ability to use a secure server. The secure server encrypts all information a visitor inputs before it is sent to IMA,is also used to store personal information securely.


Third Party Web Sites


The Site may contain links to other Internet web sites. Unless we explicitly state otherwise, we have no control over these third party sitestheir privacy practices,this Privacy Policy applies only to information you supply (or that we collect) in connection with use of the Site. You should review third party privacy policies in connection with visiting the Sites.


Opt-Out Right


Members may opt-out of having their Personal Information collected by IMA, used by IMA for secondary purposes,used by IMA to send any correspondence to the member, by contacting IMA as indicated below.


Access toAbility to Correct Personal Data


Upon request via postal mail, e-mail,telephone (during regular business hours), IMA will provide to Members a summary of any personally identifiable information retained by IMA regarding the Member. A Member may modify, correct, changepersonally identifiable information that IMA has collected by contacting IMA as indicated below.


IMAs Right to Change Privacy Policy


IMA may change the content of its SitePrivacy Policy at any time. Please revisit our Privacy Policy from time to time to be sure you are familiar with our current policy.


Unsubscribing to IMA E-mails


If you decide at any time that you do not want to receive any e-mail materials to which you have subscribed, you may choose to unsubscribe to these e-mails by following the instructions at the bottom of the e-mail material.
